Good morning, dear friends! As I have told you many times, I have an obsession with good quality products taht are made with natural ingredients! If I read labels with unknown words, I just don’t buy the product. Especially ever since I became a mom I am even more careful! I recently tried some new traditional greek products made in Kiato with high quality ingredients called «To filema tis Lelas». These handmade products contain no preservatives. The jams and chutneys are sugar free! How cool is that! Everything we tried was delicious! The chutneys pair well with legume dishes and some are spicy, others mild. We also tried spoon sweets and I have to say that the sour cherry was the best we have ever tried!
The recipe I am posting today shows how simple quality ingredients can work miracles and turn a simple sandwitch into a gourmet snack! This open sandwitch has greens, grilled mushrooms, orange chutney and hemp nuts. Can’t get simpler than that, can it? And yet it is such a lovely and healthy snack! Ingredients for 2 sandwitches:
2 slices of whole wheat bread
1 portobello mushroom, sliced
4 tsp orange chutney «To filema tis Lelas»
greens of choice
2 tsp hemp nuts Canah (or sesame seeds)
salt Le Guerandais and pepper
Season mushroom slices with salt and pepper and cook them on a grill pan. Spread chutney on bread slices (you can toast bread if you like). Put greens of choice and mushrooms. Top with balsamic cream and hemp nuts and serve. Enjoy!
