Coconut bacon!

While browsing through the internet I recently came across the term «coconut bacon«! I was very curious about it, so I decided to make. It is super easy and quick to make. Coconut flakes coated with soy sauce, maple syrup and liquid smoke, baked for a few minutes! Can’t get simpler than that! I will soon post the salad in which I used this plant bacon for the first time. It is yummy, I can’t tell if it tastes like bacon, I don’t even remember the taste of bacon (I have not eaten bacon for 15 years now!) but it really enhanced the flavor of my salad.

Ingredients:
2 cups coconut flakes
1 1/2 Tbsp liquid smoke
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp maple syrup

Instructions:
Place coconut flakes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. In a bowl combine liquid smoke with maple syrup and soy sauce. Pour this mixture over the flakes and mix until well coated. Bake for a few minutes (about 10) at 180C until golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Store in freezer.
