Good morning, dear friends! Greek Easter will be celebrated on Sunday and we have a sweet treat for you! This healthy chocolate candy is delicious! My daughter loves it. She is so happy when I make a sweet treat for her because she knows she can enjoy it in larger quantities than the storebought ones…The first time I made these lovely treats, although they were delicious, they turned out a bit ugly because they needed more chocolate to cover them up. The second time they turned out amazing. I am warning you not to make the same mistake! Don’t be stingy on chocolate!
Happy Easter to all friends celebrating around the world! Have a lovely weekend! Kisses and hugs from both of us!
Ingredients (yields 30-35 ):
200+200 gr. vegan chocolate, melted
100 gr. dates, soaked
80 gr. oats
50 gr. walnuts
20 gr. shredded coconut
20 gr. coconut oil, melted
Pour with a teaspoon a generous amount of melted chocolate into every silicon case so that it makes a thick layer and cover the bottom and the «walls». Allow to cool in the fridge. In a blender pulse drained dates and walnuts. Then add the rest of the ingredients and pulse again. When chocolate has set, take the cases out of the fridge and fill them with the date mixture. Then melt the rest of the chocolate (200 gr.) and cover the treats. Put again in the fridge and allow to cool completely. Be careful while removing them from the cases. Enjoy!
Notes: If you dont have silicon cases you can use paper cases.Just be careful while taking them out of the cases (the paper might be torn easily)
If you dont want to use coconut oil, go for a vegan butter but you ‘d better add 1 tsp vanilla extract and more shredded coconut to cover the butter flavour.
You could also make truffles instead of candy. Just melt 200 gr. chocolate and combine it with the date mixture. Make balls and roll them in shredded coconut. Then allow to cool.
